The base of this embroidered wallhanging was a CommonRoom cushion cover second, which we couldn't use. It was originally conceived as half of a hug. Instead of throwing it away, Corissa volunteered to work on it. To begin with, she cut it up and then slowly began to sew it back together. Not only has she breathed life into something that would otherwise have gone to waste, she has symbolically repaired something even more valuable - a sense of human connection. This is a one-off piece.

Broken Hand has three buttonholes sewn along the top of the reverse which you can use for hanging or alternatively it would look great in a frame.

Corissa Robinson is a London based textile/fibre artist whose work stems from a background in graphic design. Corissa explores materials, texture, colour and shape to create unique modern pieces for the home. Each piece is as individual as its process. You can see more of her wonderful work here.
